Re: International Golf Federation (IGF) Anti-Doping Policy

The International Golf Federation’s Anti-Doping Policy, effective 1 January 2009, has been approved by the World Anti-Doping Agency. A copy of the Policy is attached, and it has now been posted on the “IGF Anti-Doping Policy” section of the website www.internationalgolffederation.org.

The responsibilities of national unions or federations in relation to this policy (in terms of incorporation of the IGF’s rules, reporting and recognition) are outlined in Article 14 of the Policy.

To assist all member organisations with queries relating to anti-doping and the new Policy, the IGF has appointed Michele Verroken as its Anti-Doping Administrator. It is requested that all queries relating to the new Policy or anti-doping in general should be raised directly with Michele.

In order to assist you with the implementation of the IGF anti-doping policy in conjunction with your own national anti-doping policy, Michele will be writing to you shortly.

With the introduction of the 2009 Policy and the appointment of an Anti-Doping Administrator, the IGF is demonstrating its continued commitment to WADA’s fight against doping in sport. As part of this commitment, the IGF hopes to be able to assist member organisations with their own anti-doping matters whenever possible.
